Yatta!

On their fourth full-length release, 'Yatta!', the Dutch quartet YĪN YĪN expands its signature blend of Southeast Asian musical motifs, psychedelia, funk, and surf rock with a pronounced influence from Italo disco. The album sharpens the band's focus on creating kinetic, dance-floor-oriented grooves, with tracks evoking the soundtracks to imaginary Thai westerns and Japanese spy films. This release is also marked by a more organic recording process, with the band capturing the songs live in the studio to give the intricate, layered compositions a cohesive and forward-facing energy.
