Arcade Fire

Formed in Montreal in 2001, Arcade Fire is a Canadian band that defined a new scope for indie rock in the 21st century. [1, 5, 11] Led by the songwriting partnership of Win Butler and Régine Chassagne, the group is distinguished by its expansive, multi-instrumentalist approach, merging rock aesthetics with orchestral and baroque pop arrangements. [5, 9] Their thematic material often explores alienation, spirituality, and social commentary, delivered with an anthemic intensity that builds from spare verses to cathartic, full-band crescendos. The band’s grand sonic palette and dynamic live performances have shaped their influence, expanding the emotional and instrumental range of contemporary rock music. [9]
