Bauhaus

Bauhaus

Bauhaus were an English rock band formed in Northampton in 1978, widely regarded as pioneers of gothic rock. Known for their bleak, atmospheric sound, they combined elements of dub, glam rock, and psychedelia. Their debut single, 'Bela Lugosi's Dead', released in 1979 on #Small Wonder# records, became a defining anthem of the goth subculture. The band, consisting of Peter Murphy, Daniel Ash, David J, and Kevin Haskins, released influential albums on #4AD# and #Beggars Banquet#, including the seminal 'In the Flat Field'. Though their initial run was short, their dark, minimalist aesthetic and theatrical performances left an indelible mark on post-punk and alternative music.
