David Crosby

David Crosby

David Crosby was an American singer-songwriter who architected the sounds of folk-rock and the California sound. [1, 4] As a founding member of The Byrds, he pioneered the genre with distinctive rhythm guitar work and soaring, unconventional vocal parts. [4, 17] He extended this influence in Crosby, Stills & Nash, where his talent for intricate, layered harmonies became a defining feature. [17] Known for employing jazz-inflected chord voicings and a wide array of alternate guitar tunings, Crosby’s work expanded the harmonic vocabulary of rock music, cementing a legacy of profound influence over generations of singer-songwriters and alternative musicians.
