Deep Purple

Formed in England in 1968, Deep Purple are considered among the primary architects of hard rock and heavy metal. [1, 6] Initially leaning toward psychedelic and progressive rock, the band's 1970 album 'In Rock' defined their new, heavier direction, built upon the interplay between Ritchie Blackmore's guitar and Jon Lord's overdriven organ. [1, 6] Their music merged blues-rock structures with classical-inspired virtuosity and powerful, driving rhythms, establishing a sonic blueprint that influenced subsequent generations of rock musicians. [6, 13] Despite numerous lineup changes, the band has maintained a consistent presence, shaping the evolution of heavy music for several decades. [4, 5]
