Disembodied

Disembodied are a pioneering American metalcore band formed in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Known for their uniquely slow, punishingly heavy, and dissonant sound, they were a significant force in the late-1990s hardcore scene. Their style, characterized by down-tuned guitars and intense rhythmic breakdowns, proved to be highly influential on subsequent generations of metal and hardcore bands. Their seminal releases, including the debut album 'Diablerie' on #Ferret Music# and the follow-up 'Heretic', established a blueprint for a more groove-oriented and oppressively heavy form of metallic hardcore. Despite multiple periods of inactivity, the band's legacy endures, cemented by their impactful discography and sporadic, powerful reunion performances.
