Eddie Hazel

Eddie Hazel was the pioneering lead guitarist for the influential Parliament-Funkadelic collective, celebrated for his revolutionary fusion of psychedelic rock, funk, and blues. Born Edward Earl Hazel, he was a foundational architect of the P-Funk sound, best known for his emotionally charged, ten-minute solo on the iconic Funkadelic track 'Maggot Brain'. His Hendrix-inspired yet uniquely raw and expressive style set a new standard for the electric guitar in funk music. Though his output was curtailed by personal struggles, he released one official solo album, 'Game, Dames and Guitar Thangs', on #Warner Bros.# records in 1977. Hazel was posthumously inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1997 as a member of Parliament-Funkadelic.
