Electric Light Orchestra

Electric Light Orchestra (ELO) are a British rock band from Birmingham who achieved global fame for their ambitious fusion of rock and pop with classical arrangements. Formed in 1970 by *The Move* members *Jeff Lynne*, *Roy Wood*, and *Bev Bevan*, the group's mission was to create modern songs with a classical sound. After *Wood*'s early departure, *Lynne* became the sole creative force, writing, arranging, and producing a string of hit albums for labels like #Jet# and #Columbia#. Their 1970s work, including the grandly conceptual 'Eldorado' and the commercially massive 'A New World Record' and 'Out of the Blue', defined their legacy with lush orchestration and futuristic themes, making them one of the era's most successful acts.
