Funkadelic

Funkadelic emerged from Plainfield, New Jersey, in 1968 as a principal entity within George Clinton's Parliament-Funkadelic collective. The group's initial work fused psychedelic rock, soul, and doo-wop, distinguished by a raw, guitar-centric sound influenced by Jimi Hendrix and Sly Stone. [3, 4, 9] This evolved by the mid-1970s, incorporating synthesizers and complex horn arrangements, which defined their pioneering contributions to funk rock. [4, 7] Their sonic experimentation, combined with surreal humor and social commentary, shaped the funk genre and left a lasting imprint on rock, hip-hop, and electronic music. [2, 4]
