Giles Corey

Giles Corey is the dark folk solo project of American musician Dan Barrett, best known as one-half of the duo *Have a Nice Life*. Named after a victim of the Salem witch trials, the project serves as an intensely personal outlet for Barrett, exploring themes of depression, suicide, and death. The music blends elements of folk, singer-songwriter, and experimental sound, characterized by a lo-fi, intimate, and often haunting atmosphere. The project's acclaimed 2011 self-titled debut, 'Giles Corey', was released on Barrett's own #Enemies List Home Recordings# label and was accompanied by a book delving into its bleak philosophical concepts.
