Herb Ellis

A guitarist renowned for his blues-drenched, swinging style, Herb Ellis rose to international fame as a member of the hugely popular Oscar Peterson Trio from 1953 to 1958. His playing was characterized by its soulful feeling, horn-like melodic lines, and an unstoppable sense of swing. He perfectly complemented Oscar Peterson's virtuosic piano and Ray Brown's powerful bass, creating one of the most celebrated and cohesive rhythm sections in jazz history.
