Jonathan Richman
Jonathan Richman is a highly influential American singer, songwriter, and guitarist known for his role as the frontman of the proto-punk band The Modern Lovers. He formed the band in 1970, and their debut album, largely produced by *John Cale*, became a touchstone for punk, new wave, and indie rock, featuring iconic songs like 'Roadrunner' and 'Pablo Picasso'. After the original group disbanded, Richman continued with various lineups as Jonathan Richman and the Modern Lovers, shifting to a gentler, more acoustic, and often whimsical style. His solo work is characterized by a wide-eyed, earnest, and childlike perspective, drawing on a wide array of global and folk influences.
