Kaatayra

Kaatayra is the solo project of Brazilian musician Caio Lemos from Brasília. The project is renowned for its unique fusion of atmospheric black metal with traditional Brazilian folk music, ambient textures, and acoustic instrumentation. Lemos, who handles all instruments and vocals, explores themes of nature, spirituality, and indigenous culture, with lyrics sometimes sung in the Tupi language. Kaatayra's sound is both heavy and delicate, creating an immersive experience that is simultaneously ferocious and meditative. Prolific since its 2019 debut, the project gained significant attention with albums like 'Só Quem Viu o Relâmpago à Sua Direita Sabe' and 'Inpariquipê', often self-released via #Bandcamp#.
