Kayo Dot

Kayo Dot is an American avant-garde group formed by composer and multi-instrumentalist *Toby Driver*. Emerging from the breakup of the cult progressive metal band *maudlin of the Well*, Kayo Dot was conceived to explore a more fluid, chamber-oriented sound. The band is known for its radical stylistic shifts between albums, incorporating elements of post-rock, modern classical, black metal, and synth-pop. Their debut, "Choirs of the Eye", released on *John Zorn's* Tzadik label, is considered a landmark of experimental metal, fusing intense, layered compositions with a wide array of instrumentation that has influenced a generation of musicians in the underground.
