Klaus Dinger

Klaus Dinger was a visionary German musician celebrated as a principal architect of Krautrock and the inventor of the relentless 'motorik' beat. After a brief but influential stint as a drummer for *Kraftwerk* on their debut album, he co-founded *Neu!* with *Michael Rother* in 1971. With *Neu!*, he recorded seminal albums like 'Neu!' and 'Neu! '75', which showcased his hypnotic drumming and proto-punk vocal style. He later formed the commercially successful band *La Düsseldorf* with his brother *Thomas Dinger*, blending art-rock with new wave sensibilities. Dinger's innovative, driving rhythms and experimental approach have been cited as a major influence by artists ranging from *David Bowie* to *Sonic Youth*.
