Landowner

Landowner is a minimalist post-punk band from Western Massachusetts known for its 'abrasively clean' sound. The project began as a solo effort by vocalist Dan Shaw, who recorded the debut cassette 'Impressive Almanac' in 2016. The full band, featuring guitarists Jeff Gilmartin and Elliot Hughes, bassist Josh Owsley, and drummer Josh Daniel, formed in 2017. Their music is built on taut, interlocking guitar lines, a tight rhythm section, and Shaw's spoken-word, socially conscious lyrics that critique modern absurdities. The group has released several albums on #Born Yesterday Records#, including 'Blatant', 'Consultant', and 'Escape the Compound'.
