Liz Phair

Liz Phair is an American singer-songwriter who became a foundational figure in 1990s indie rock. She first gained notoriety with her self-produced 'Girly-Sound' cassettes before her 1993 debut album, 'Exile in Guyville', released on #Matador Records#, was met with widespread critical acclaim for its candid lyrics and lo-fi sound. A song-by-song response to *The Rolling Stones'* 'Exile on Main St.', the album established her as a pivotal voice.
