Mount Eerie

Mount Eerie is the primary musical project of American songwriter and producer Phil Elverum, initiated in 2003 after retiring his previous moniker, *The Microphones*. Based in Anacortes, Washington, the project is known for its deeply personal and experimental approach to indie folk and lo-fi music. Elverum's work often explores themes of nature, existence, and memory with a raw, atmospheric sound. The project gained significant attention for the stark, unflinching honesty of the albums "A Crow Looked At Me" and "Now Only", which directly chronicled the death of his wife, artist Geneviève Castrée, and his subsequent grief. His sound is characterized by a blend of delicate acoustic arrangements, ambient textures, and occasional forays into black metal-influenced distortion.
