Mulgrew Miller

One of the most respected and influential jazz pianists of his generation, Mulgrew Miller was a cornerstone of the neo-bop movement of the 1980s. After gaining fame as a member of Art Blakey's Jazz Messengers, he became a prolific leader and a first-call sideman. His playing was known for its powerful touch, sophisticated harmonic sense, and an unstoppable, blues-drenched swing that drew heavily on the influence of McCoy Tyner. He was a master of modern acoustic jazz.
