Ritchie Blackmore

Richard "Ritchie" Hugh Blackmore is a highly influential English guitarist and songwriter, celebrated for his pioneering fusion of classical melodies with hard rock. As a founding member of Deep Purple, he created some of rock's most iconic guitar riffs, including "Smoke on the Water." After leaving Deep Purple, he formed Rainbow, a band that further explored his interests in baroque and medieval themes within a heavy rock context, featuring legendary vocalists like *Ronnie James Dio*. In 1997, he shifted focus again, co-founding the renaissance-inspired folk-rock project Blackmore's Night with his wife, *Candice Night*, showcasing his prowess on acoustic guitar and various lutes and mandolins.
