Softcult

Softcult is a Canadian duo composed of twin siblings Mercedes and Phoenix Arn-Horn. Formed after the dissolution of their previous band, *Courage My Love*, the project embraces a DIY ethos inspired by the riot grrrl movement. Their music melds the textures of shoegaze and dreampop with the heavier sensibilities of grunge and alternative rock. Known for their outspoken social and political commentary on topics like misogyny, patriarchy, and mental health, the band complements their music with a monthly zine called 'SCripture'. They released their debut single in 2021 on #Easy Life Records# and have since garnered acclaim for EPs like 'Year of the Rat' and 'See You in the Dark'.
