Soundgarden

Soundgarden

Soundgarden was a seminal American rock band formed in Seattle, Washington, in 1984. As one of the architects of the grunge movement, their sound fused heavy metal power with punk's ethos and alternative rock's melodic complexity. The band rose from the independent scene with releases on #Sub Pop# and #SST Records# before becoming the first grunge act to sign to a major label, #A&M Records#. Their 1994 album, 'Superunknown', launched them to international stardom with hits like "Black Hole Sun" and "Spoonman". After disbanding in 1997, they reunited in 2010, releasing a final album and touring until the death of frontman Chris Cornell in 2017.
