Stereolab

Formed in London in 1990, Stereolab emerged as a singular force in experimental rock, guided by the songwriting partnership of Tim Gane and Lætitia Sadier. [1, 9] The band synthesized avant-pop with the motorik rhythms of Krautrock, layering vintage analog keyboards and guitars with Sadier’s bilingual vocals. [1] Their sound drew from a vast catalog including French pop, lounge, and jazz, while their lyrics explored Marxist and Situationist themes. [1, 11] Following a decade-long hiatus that began in 2009, the group's influential work, which shaped a significant branch of 1990s indie music, was reaffirmed with their reunion in 2019. [1, 8, 14]
