Susumu Hirasawa

Susumu Hirasawa is a pioneering Japanese electronic artist, composer, and performer known for his prolific and eclectic output. He first gained prominence as the leader of the influential techno-pop band P-Model in 1979. Launching a solo career in 1989 with the album 'Water in Time and Space', he developed a unique style blending electronic, pop, and orchestral elements. Hirasawa is also celebrated for his evocative soundtrack work, particularly his long-standing collaboration with the late anime director Satoshi Kon on films like 'Millennium Actress' and 'Paprika'. Since 1994, he has staged his 'Interactive Live Shows', multimedia events where the audience's participation influences the performance in real-time, solidifying his reputation as a technologically innovative and visionary musician.
