The Mars Volta

The Mars Volta

The Mars Volta emerged from the breakup of post-hardcore band *At the Drive-In*, founded by core members Omar Rodríguez-López and Cedric Bixler-Zavala. Formed in El Paso, Texas, the band is celebrated for its wildly energetic live shows and intricate concept albums. Their debut, "De-Loused in the Comatorium", produced by *Rick Rubin* and featuring bass by *Flea*, set the stage for their unique fusion of progressive rock, psychedelia, jazz fusion, and Latin influences. After a hiatus that began in 2012, the band reunited in 2019, releasing their self-titled album in 2022 on #Clouds Hill# and resuming their boundary-pushing musical journey.
