Thomas Wydler

Thomas Wydler is a Swiss musician principally recognized for his long-standing role as the drummer for Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds. [1] Emerging from the experimental post-punk scene of 1980s Berlin, where he was a founding member of Die Haut, he joined The Bad Seeds in 1985. [2, 8] His drumming is noted for its subtle, textural, and jazz-inflected style, providing a dynamic yet restrained foundation that became integral to the band's evolving sound, from visceral rock to sparse, atmospheric ballads. [13] As the band's longest-serving member besides Cave, Wydler's percussive vocabulary has been a defining, stabilizing force in their sonic architecture for decades. [1, 3]
