WU LYF

WU LYF (World Unite! Lucifer Youth Foundation) were a short-lived but fiercely impactful band from Manchester, England. Emerging in the late 2000s, they cultivated an intense mystique, shunning traditional press and building a cult following through their raw, chaotic live performances. Their sound was a unique and volatile concoction of lo-fi indie rock, post-punk urgency, and cathedral-sized organ drones, all led by the extraordinarily raw, gravel-throated vocals of frontman *Ellery James Roberts*. Their one and only album, 2011's "Go Tell Fire to the Mountain", was a critically acclaimed declaration of youthful defiance and spiritual searching. After their sudden, cryptic split in 2012, members went on to form projects like *LUH.* and *Francis Lung*.
