The Greatest Gift
by Scratch Acid
Gathering the complete recorded output of the profoundly influential, short-lived Texas quartet, 'The Greatest Gift' is a monument of harrowing 1980s noise rock. Driven by David Yow's unhinged, manic vocal performances and a heavily distorted, rhythmic bass attack, the band bridged the gap between abrasive post-punk and American hardcore. Following their dissolution, key members went on to form the critically lauded noise-rock pioneers The Jesus Lizard.
