Although the spanish shoegaze scene does not have a particularly extensive collection of bands —at least if we stick to the label in its strictest sense— a new name with great potential is emerging from the centre of the country. Formed by Mer, Carlos, Unax, and Xián, the Madrid-based group recently released their first work, a 4-track EP titled “.file.” Far from the British shoegaze of the 90s, .moov positions itself within the growing nugaze and grunge revival scene that is redefining the American underground. The result is a sound that combines influences from indie, emo, punk, and extreme metal, reflecting the different stylistic niches of its members. Their debut EP showcases a remarkable level of production for a band that has only been together in its current lineup for two years.
