Constructed as a deeply cynical conceptual narrative about the psychological pressures of sudden fame, this release is bookended by unsettling a cappella interludes. The aggressive production from James Blake and No I.D. heavily incorporates avant-garde industrial noise beneath Staples' deadpan, nihilistic flow. The accompanying short film further emphasized the project's bleak commentary on the destructive nature of the music industry.
