The genre is defined by its hypnotic, psychedelic textures, built from modulating the 303's filter cutoff and resonance parameters to create fluid, corrosive sonic lines. Paired with the driving force of TR-808 and TR-909 drum machines, the resulting sound is raw, mechanical, and propulsive.
