Amigacore

Originating from the 1990s demoscene and early online file-sharing culture, Amigacore is a raw form of hardcore techno produced using tracker software on Commodore Amiga computers. Its sonic identity is defined by the hardware's limitations: 4-channel, 8-bit sample playback, which producers exploited to create a frenetic and distorted sound palette. Utilizing heavily clipped kick drums, lo-fi vocal stabs, and rapid arpeggiations, the genre merges the rhythmic intensity of gabber with a distinct digital minimalism. Its ethos was rooted in DIY accessibility, shaping a foundational, if commercially obscure, corner of electronic music.
