New Rave

Emerging from the UK in the mid-2000s, New Rave fused the angular guitar-driven energy of the dance-punk revival with the synthetic textures and rhythmic frameworks of electro house and electroclash. The genre was defined by its use of prominent, often bright synthesizer leads, four-on-the-floor drum patterns, and vocals that ranged from gang chants to melodic hooks, creating a sound that was both aggressive and primed for dancefloors. Aesthetically, it was accompanied by a distinct visual style incorporating neon colors and glowsticks, which briefly propelled the movement from underground clubs to mainstream visibility before its rapid commercial decline.
