The Sounds of Silence / We've Got a Groovey Thing Goin'

Originally released as a purely acoustic folk track on their commercially unsuccessful debut album, 'The Sound of Silence' was radically transformed without the duo's knowledge. Producer Tom Wilson overdubbed electric guitar, bass, and drums onto the original recording to capitalize on the burgeoning folk-rock trend spearheaded by The Byrds. The electrified remix became a massive number-one hit, reuniting the disbanded duo and defining the 1960s folk-rock movement.
