Recorded in producer Daniel Miller's apartment using a rudimentary Korg synthesizer and a TEAC four-track, this release launched Mute Records. Influenced heavily by J.G. Ballard's novel 'Crash', the lyrics coldly explore the intersection of eroticism and automotive violence. Its harsh, primitive electronic tones laid the groundwork for the ensuing industrial, minimal wave, and synth-punk movements.
