An utterly manic, high-energy novelty hit that violently mashed together two separate R&B tracks by The Rivingtons ('Papa-Oom-Mow-Mow' and 'The Bird's the Word'). Drummer and lead vocalist Steve Wahrer delivered an unhinged, screeching vocal performance that borders on the avant-garde. Its incredibly fast, aggressive tempo and bizarrely repetitive lyrics inadvertently established early groundwork for the frenetic energy of 1970s punk rock.
