Lyrics for Summer Breeze (Interview, Pt. 3)

I think that what we're discussing, what the Isley Brothers Historically represented in the music is that idea of being self- Contained and doing it all yourselves and putting all of what You are into the music and not having something else superimposed On your style, your talents, your ideas. That's a very major Step in music in general, and was a huge step and a very important Step in the development of R&B music, development of black Music, and also in the development of the black lifestyle Especially, you see that in the film, the idea, "It's your thing." And even with that, like when you say, "It's your thing," you know Like we just didn't want to make that statement and not give an idea Of where to go from that, you know? So that's why we followed it With lyrics like, "Do what you wanna do," and then we said behind That, "I can't tell you who to sock it to." In other words, it's Your life, you know. You know, you have to live it, you have to Suffer with the good and the bad, and we hope that you think positive . You know, we'd like for you to find a good road, you know? Sure There are gonna be times where, you know, you're gonna have the Temptations to, like, vary, but you have to make the choice. You Know, nobody can set that for you. You know, and we hope that, you Know, like, people will do good things with their lives, you know? We're trying to do it with ours, and we're trying to set patterns for Our brothers, I feel like, and anybody that's around us. But I feel That if we set an example, you know, not so much as Just trying to set an example, but trying to live a Good life, you know, trying to do positive things with Our life, then some way, like, this'll come through
