Album Notes & Community Reviews

Recorded immediately following the abrupt departure of founding members Kevin Godley and Lol Creme, 'Deceptive Bends' proved that the remaining duo of Stewart and Gouldman could maintain the group's massive commercial momentum. The album leans heavily into immaculate studio craft and polished pop songcraft, dialing back some of the avant-garde eccentricities of their earlier work. It features the massive, sweeping soft-rock hit 'The Things We Do for Love', a testament to their enduring melodic sensibilities.
