Album Notes & Community Reviews

Igniting the modern resurgence of visceral, groove-oriented extreme metal, 'Slave to the Scalpel' is a brief but overwhelmingly brutal debut that wastes no time on subtlety. The Ohio-based group channels the gory, mid-tempo savagery of 1990s death metal, executing memorable, caveman-like riffs with pristine modern tightness. The record immediately propelled the band to the forefront of the new wave of American death metal.
