Documenting a drastic stylistic departure, this challenging album was pieced together from a live performance and highly experimental studio improvisations. 'The Culling Is Coming' abandons the band's earlier industrial-funk grooves in favor of Balinese gamelan percussion, scraping tape loops, and deeply unsettling, ritualistic drones. The fiercely anti-commercial approach aligned them closely with the esoteric industrial underground orbiting Genesis P-Orridge and the Temple ov Psychick Youth.
