Album Notes & Community Reviews
Masterminded entirely by producer Dale Warren, this singular concept album is an intensely dark, cinematic exploration of urban decay, poverty, and inner-city strife. The sweeping, melancholic orchestral arrangements and extended, suite-like funk grooves were a commercial failure upon release but later became an immensely influential, frequently sampled hip-hop cornerstone.
