Album Notes & Community Reviews
On their second album, Patrick Walker's 40 Watt Sun made a profound stylistic shift, moving away from the heavy doom metal of their debut towards a starkly minimalist and emotionally raw sound. 'Wider than the Sky' is a landmark album in modern sadcore and slowcore, comprised of long, patient songs built around clean, reverberating electric guitars and Walker's incredibly powerful, mournful vocals. It's a deeply melancholic and beautiful exploration of love and loss.
