Before I Self Destruct

Album Notes & Community Reviews

Intended as a return to his grittier, street-level origins following the commercial sheen of 'Curtis', the New York rapper's fourth studio album relies heavily on menacing, bass-heavy production. Featuring crucial collaborations with Dr. Dre and Eminem, the record centers on themes of paranoia, violence, and intense bravado. Although met with mixed critical reception, it successfully recaptured much of the aggressive tone that defined his early dominance.
