Album Notes & Community Reviews

Teaming up with the relatively unknown production duo of Timbaland and Missy Elliott, the teenage vocalist completely reshaped the landscape of contemporary R&B. The incredibly innovative, stuttering syncopated beats and her remarkably smooth, understated vocal delivery pioneered a futuristic, highly influential urban aesthetic. The record permanently severed ties with her controversial debut, launching an entirely new era of electronic-influenced soul.
