Album Notes & Community Reviews

Following the acclaimed work of his influential crew Freestyle Fellowship, the West Coast MC delivered his incredibly complex, highly literate solo debut. The remarkable recording completely eschews the prevailing G-Funk trends of the era, favoring deeply abstract, jazz-inflected boom-bap production. His impossibly intricate, rapid-fire lyrical delivery firmly established him as one of the most technically gifted, fiercely independent voices in underground hip-hop.
