Songs

Conceived and recorded in a one-room cabin during the 2020 pandemic lockdown, 'Songs' is a raw and intimate work captured entirely through an all-analog process on an eight-track tape machine. The album pairs Adrianne Lenker's intricate acoustic guitar and vulnerable vocals with ambient sounds from her environment, such as rain and birdsong, creating a lo-fi and immediate sonic texture. Lyrically, it is a deeply personal and unguarded exploration of heartbreak, nature, memory, and the cyclical patterns of life and death, presented with poetic and vivid imagery.
