Album Notes & Community Reviews

On 'Congregation', the Afghan Whigs brilliantly distinguish themselves from the Seattle grunge scene by heavily integrating Motown soul influences into their alternative rock sound. Greg Dulli's deeply passionate, darkly sexual vocal delivery elevates highly melodic, bittersweet narratives of romantic obsession and toxic heartbreak.
