Album Notes & Community Reviews

As the very first non-Pacific Northwest band to sign with Sub Pop, the Ohio group's sophomore album carries the abrasive, distortion-heavy hallmarks of early grunge. While lacking the distinct soul influences of their later work, Greg Dulli's intense, strained vocals hint at the emotional weight to come.
