Album Notes & Community Reviews
Continuing their steady drift from hardcore punk roots towards glossy mainstream rock, the California band's eighth studio record features crisp, arena-ready production by Joe McGrath and Jacknife Lee. Davey Havok's lyrics delve deeply into the toxic vanity and superficiality of celebrity culture in Los Angeles. The album trades the aggressive screaming of their earlier work for highly melodic, guitar-driven pop-rock hooks.
