Album Notes & Community Reviews

Released as a surprise under Nicolas Jaar's alias, '2012 - 2017' is a collection of sample-based house music that contrasts with the more experimental and somber tones of his primary output. The album鈥檚 production recontextualizes classic soul, funk, and disco loops into immediate and celebratory dance tracks, characterized by a warm, filtered sound, heavy kick drums, and intricate drum chops. This approach created a body of work that is both an homage to its source material and a cohesive, floor-focused experience.
